Your next meeting to agree local priorities will be on;

26th Jan 2009 16:00

The Poppyland Partnership will meet at Merchants Place, Church Street, Cromer on Monday 26th January 2009 at 4PM. Three priorities will be chosen from issues raised and an action plan developed. At the next KIN meeting the panel reports back to the public about what action has been taken, if actions are acceptable these are then signed off and another three priorities are set. These meetings are an opportunity for local residents to have a say about issues in their area which affect them which in turn dictates which issues become the our main focus. If you would like to raise any issues to be considered at the next KIN, please contact the Safer Neighbourhood Team on 0845 456 4567.

Actions taken for Cromer Neighbourhood

Priority 1
Motor Vehicle Based ASB - In particular cars travelling between Cromer and Sheringham public car parks to use them as a meeting place and causing ASB and disruption.

There have been a couple of calls to Meadow carpark over the last few weeks however we are planning an action day on the 24th November and will be working with road policing, VOSA, environmental health and hopefully the safety camera partnership.

Priority 2
Cycling Offences, poor lighting and riding on pavements - educating cyclists as the nights draw in, giving extra attention to cyclists with inadequate lighting. Several cyclists have been stopped and advised over the last few weeks.

Arrangements have been made with several schools to assist with their cycling proficiency. Posters in English and Polish have also been distributed to various locations round the town and parishes.

Priority 3
Misuse of Pedestrianised Streets in Cromer and also goods vehicles unloading on streets at busy times and causing traffic problems. Sgt TRAVERS has arranged a meeting with Highways to review the restricted streets and possibly arrange better signage

Crime Mapping

Norfolk Constabulary has introduced crime maps so you can see the levels of crime where you live. In comparison with most other police services, Norfolk records very low levels of crime. The crime is categorised on a map of Norfolk according to burglary, robbery, vehicle crime, violence, anti-social behaviour and all crime. Simply type in your postcode or click on the map to see the levels of crime in your district and ward. The maps are updated monthly and compare recorded crime over the previous year. You can see if crime has increased or decreased where you live and what type of crime has the greatest impact in terms of volume. To see your crime map follow the link below.
