Current priorities for Reepham Neighbourhood
1. Swannington- Work to reduce rowdy and nuisance behaviour at the bus shelter, The Street.
2. Felthorpe- Problem solve anti-social behaviour at Schoolfields.
3. Lenwade – Address the increase of crime particularly to commercial premises.
Your next meeting to agree local priorities will be on;
4th Aug 2009 19:00
The next Safer Neighbourhood Action Panel (SNAP) meeting will be on Tuesday 4 August at 7pm, at Reepham Town Hall. All SNAP meetings are open to the public and provide an opportunity for the public to voice their concerns about issues in their neighbourhood before a panel of representatives from local agencies, which could include; Police, Neighbourhood Wardens, Housing Officers, local Councilors, Education Authority and Health Authority members etc. Three priorities are then chosen from the issues raised and an action plan developed. At the next SNAP meeting the panel reports back to the public about what action has been taken, if actions are acceptable these are then signed off and another three priorities are set. These meetings are an opportunity for local residents to have a say about issues in their area which affect them which in turn dictates which issues become the our main focus. If you would like to contact Reepham Safer Neighbourhood Team call 0845 456 4567.
Actions taken for Reepham Neighbourhood
Monthly update for Reepham - May 2009
- Generally the neighbourhood has experienced a quiet period.
Priority 1- Addressing anti-social behaviour and criminal damage centred around village halls and local amenities.
High visibility patrols were increased at village halls to help reduce anti-social behaviour. During the priority period the incidents have significantly decreased. From 27 February-1 April there were no reports recorded, as a result the issue was dropped as a priority.
Priority 2 - Theft of heating oil and diesel.
Crime prevention advice and increased patrols were stepped up to help deal with theft of heating oil and diesel. This action has been successful and there have only been two crimes of this nature since the beginning of the year.
Priority 3 - Addressing speeding in the neighbourhood.
Members of the Speedwatch team continue to carry out regular speed checks in the parish. The team has now been operating in Reepham and surrounding parishes for a whole year and have checked the speed of over 18,000 cars and reported 300 vehicles for driving in excess of the speed limits. At the meeting it was decided that Speedwatch is an on-going initiative and should been taken off as a priority. The new co-ordinator of the group asked for volunteers to be part of the team.

Crime Mapping
Norfolk Constabulary has introduced crime maps so you can see the levels of crime where you live. In comparison with most other police services, Norfolk records very low levels of crime. The crime is categorised on a map of Norfolk according to burglary, robbery, vehicle crime, violence, anti-social behaviour and all crime. Simply type in your postcode or click on the map to see the levels of crime in your district and ward. The maps are updated monthly and compare recorded crime over the previous year. You can see if crime has increased or decreased where you live and what type of crime has the greatest impact in terms of volume. To see your crime map follow the link below.
